SRQ Traffic Continues Growth Trend

Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) passenger traffic for the month of March was up 33% over March 2018 with 197,889 passengers traveling through the airport.  This follows 13 straight months of traffic increases with year-to-date traffic up 36.5%.

Passenger traffic is expected to show continued growth through the remainder of 2019.  Over the past 12 months, the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport has added 2 new air carriers, Allegiant Air and Frontier Airlines, 23 new routes and 18 new destinations including Ashville (AVL), Baltimore (BWI), Cincinnati (CVG), Cleveland (CLE), Columbus (LCK), Dallas/Ft. Worth (DFW), Denver (DEN), Grand Rapids (GRR), Harrisburg (MDT), Indianapolis (IND), Melbourne (MLB), Nashville (BNA), Philadelphia (PHL), Pittsburgh (PIT), Richmond (RIC), Syracuse (SYR), Traverse City (TVC) and Washington, D.C. (IAD).

“We are excited to see all 8 of the air carriers serving SRQ adding new destinations, up-gauging the size of their aircraft, and adding additional frequency to high demand destinations.  The large increase in air service at SRQ, coupled with new destinations and lower fares, has provided the local community the ability to conveniently utilize their hometown airport for air travel” said Rick Piccolo, SRQ President, Chief Executive Officer.
