SRQ Installs Liquid Waste Container at Screening Checkpoint

To expediate the passenger screening process at SRQ, a liquid waste container was installed at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security screening checkpoint.  The new container allows departing passengers the ability to dispose of liquids that exceed the maximum allowable volume of 3.4 oz (100ml) and reuse their container beyond security.

The newly installed liquid waste container at SRQ was manufactured in-house by Airport Authority staff and is located at the passenger queuing area near the security screening checkpoint.  The container provides a convenient method of disposing liquids that exceed the 3.4 oz (100ml) maximum limit set by the TSA.

“We are always looking for ways to provide better customer service to the passengers and be environmentally friendly.  We realize that some passengers may not be aware of or may have forgotten about the liquid restriction after arriving at the security screening checkpoint.  This new liquid waste container will provide passengers a quick and easy way to dispose of any unwanted liquids and allow them to continue their journey without interruption.  Once a traveler clears through the screening process, they can refill their liquid containers at one of our complimentary water refill stations located near the restrooms on our concourse,” said SRQ President and Chief Executive Officer Rick Piccolo.
