SRQ Passenger Traffic for November at 58% of 2019 Level

For the month of November, passenger traffic at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) was at 58% of the 2019 level.  Passengers totaled 106,195 for November 2020 compared to 182,607 passengers in November 2019.  Year-to-date figures show that while airport passenger traffic is down 35.7% compared to 2019 with 1,117,872 passengers using the airport so far this year, SRQ remains well above the national average.

“The airlines at SRQ continue to adjust their schedules based on ever-changing passenger demand.  During these difficult times, we are very fortunate to be a leisure destination that is geographically located in a warm weather setting offering many outdoor activities which allow social distancing.  While our passenger levels remain depressed,  the winter/spring schedule has a substantial increase in flights for 2021 at SRQ.

For those who fly, we are committed to ensuring that we maintain the highest level of health and safety measures available in order to provide a clean and safe environment when traveling.  With Southwest Airlines’ recent announcement to serve SRQ, we now have a total of 10 airlines providing service to 40 destinations.  We hope our community and visitors will embrace all of the new air service that has been added and will choose their local airport which benefits our local economy, businesses and residents,” stated Rick Piccolo, President, CEO of the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport.
