POLICE CHIEF GRADUATES FROM FBI NATIONAL ACADEMY

Chief James Carlino of the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority (SMAA) Police Department completed one of the most prestigious law enforcement training programs in the nation last month, graduating from the FBI National Academy Program at Quantico, Virginia. The program is internationally known for its academic excellence and offers 10 weeks of advanced leadership, management, and fitness training for selected law enforcement leaders with proven records as professionals. Chief Carlino attended the 257th session along with 210 other law enforcement officers from over 49 states and 20 countries. Carlino has been the Police Chief at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) for 6 years. He is retired from the City of Atlanta where he was a Police Commander working in the busiest parts of the city and at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Chief Carlino is currently working on a Doctorate in Homeland Security Leadership at Northcentral University and holds a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Saint Leo University. He is a member of the Florida Police Chiefs Association. Chief Carlino stated, “It was an honor to represent the Airport Authority and the customers we serve while at the FBI National Academy.
